About Jimmy

Jimmy started dragracing in 1964; he attended his local track in Erie, PA called Presque Isle Timing Association (P.I.T.A.) and has been racing ever since. He was fortunate to win a championship at the same track 30 years later in 1994 then called Lowville Dragway driving an 8 second dragster. In the late 60's Jimmy got to see Bill "Maverick" Golden do a wheelie for a quarter mile with the most famous wheelstander of all, a Dodge pickup truck called "The Little Red Wagon." He always wanted to pilot a wheelstander down the 1320 but his first love was dragracing.

In 2004 he had an opportunity to purchase a proven wheelstander and said, "at my age if I don't do this now this is never going to happen" and went for it and has been performing at a lot of tracks in the northeast part of the country along with his long time crew Andy, Wanda, Bob, Jim and Angelo. "This is so much fun, I should have done this 30 years ago, don't get me wrong I still love dragracing and attend a few national events a year as a spectator, there's nothing in the world that can compare to an 8 thousand HP dragster running 4.5 @ 330 mph!! Nothing!! When I was racing and was fortunate to win a race in my class there were a handful of family and friends who were happy for you and were pleased but as far as the spectators it was over and on to the next 2 cars to run. With the wheelstander if there's 40.000 people in the stands there all cheering and to please that many people at once is a great feeling and they let you know it in the pits, especially the kids, kids are the most honest people in the world. To be performing with a national icon "the firetruck" is a lot of fun and for it to be a 1950 Bullitnose Studebaker is just a plus since I grew up with these cars".

When Jimmy is performing at your local track he welcomes all his friends to stop by the pits and say hello and if you're not a friend yet introduce yourself and you will be.
